How to Mix Research Peptides for Laboratory Research
Research peptides are often supplied as a dry powder. Before they can be used in a laboratory setting, a measured amount of liquid must be added to create a solution.
This process is called reconstitution. It may sound complicated, but it comes down to three things: the amount of peptide, the amount of liquid added, and the final concentration needed for the research.
THE BASIC RECONSTITUTION PROCESS

1. Check the vial
Confirm the research peptide name and the amount listed on the vial before getting started. If batch testing is available, compare the batch number on the vial with the number shown on the COA to make sure the results belong to that specific batch.
2. Use correct liquid
Use the solvent or buffer recommended for that particular research peptide and laboratory application. Sterile water, buffered solutions, and other laboratory solvents may be used depending on the peptide.
3. Calculate the amount needed
Decide how much liquid to add based on the concentration required for the research.

4. Add the liquid carefully
Introduce the measured liquid slowly along the inside wall of the vial. Avoid forceful handling that could create unnecessary bubbles or foam.
5. Allow the peptide to dissolve
Gently swirl or roll the vial if needed. Some peptides dissolve quickly, while others may take more time. Avoid vigorous shaking unless the product instructions specifically recommend it.
6. AFTER THE PEPTIDE IS MIXED
Label the vial with the final concentration and reconstitution date so the details remain clear throughout the research process. This makes it easier to identify the solution later and helps prevent confusion when working with multiple research samples.
WHY THE AMOUNT OF LIQUID MATTERS
For example, adding 1 mL of liquid to a vial creates a more concentrated solution than adding 2 mL to the same vial. The total amount of peptide has not changed—only how much is present in each milliliter of solution.
